RatMaster : Tennis LessonIf you've ever played RatMaster, you know that some levels can get pretty tricky! Not only do you have to figure out what pieces need to go where, you also have to figure out how to get them there. And sometimes, once you've managed to build a path, it doesn't quite connect up to the cheese... Tennis Anyone? is a level that requires a little bit of analysis or you'll find yourself going in circles. It should be obvious that the only way over the net is through the rat hole. Lucky for you, right from the start there is a path that almost gets the rat to the hole. However, when you start looking at the pieces, you'll quickly discover that there is no piece that can connect the last piece to the rat hole. ![]() The thing to notice is that the last piece in the section of path below the net is 1 block left and 2 blocks up from the rat hole. There is no left-and-up turn piece in this level that is 1 block wide and 2 blocks high. However, there is a left-and-up turn piece that is 2 blocks wide and 2 blocks high. Now, how can we use that piece instead? ![]() In order to use that piece, we need the current path to end one block to the left of where it does now. So, we look at the path for a way to change it so it doesn't go so far to the right. The best place to do that is in the 3rd turn which is a right-and-up turn 3 blocks wide and 2 blocks high. If we swap that piece for a turn that is 2 blocks wide, and then connect up the rest of the path, it will end up one block left -- which is exactly what we want. Luckily, there is a right-and-up piece that is 2 blocks wide available right next to the rat hole! ![]() Swap the two right-and-up pieces and then reconstruct the path. Once the rat gets over near the cheese, you can then slide the left-and-up turn piece over to connect the path to the hole. And just like that, the rat goes down the hole and crosses the net. Don't forget to set up the path on the other side of the net or he'll come right back! ![]() Now the rat is on the other side of the net, use the skills you've just learned to connect a path to the cheese. |
