This month we have a couple of articles of interest, as well as a recap of our top 5 selling games so far this year. One article deals with the scurge of spam style viruses, and the other is for people who want to get really deep into making their own Aargon levels.
Space Taxi 2 has started some pre-beta testing. A beta test is right around the corner. If you're interested in trying the game first and having some input then let us know. (mail info@twilightgames.com)
The Snake's Life improvements are still being worked on, but I think they will be ready in about another week or so. There's also a rework for Frozzic's Revenge still on the way. Also in the works is a level pack for Pocket Aargon. I probably shouldn't announce these things as early as I do and keep you all waiting but I'm usually a little optimistic about how quickly they'll all get done.
One of the artists we normally work with has released a classical guitar CD. He's done most of our graphics recently and is also responsible for some of the music in our games (particularly Aargon Black Box). If you enjoy classical solo guitar you may want to have a look. His website is... NO LONGER AVAILABLE and the album is called 'Chi Va Piano Va Sano'
Aargon remains our best selling game. If you've never tried it, this game outsells most of our other titles by a wide margin. It's a tough logic game but it manages to pull people in with it's seeming simplicity. After all how hard could it be to hit just 1 coin?2 - A Snake's Life
Also if you're an Aargon fan please be sure to note that we have Pocket Aargon available for PocketPC devices and Palm os devices. There's also Mac Aargon!
A lot of people don't try snake because they're expecting something similar to what they already play on their nokia cell phone or the myriad of snake clone games around. This one is REALLY different folks. It still maintains some of the features of the original classic snake games, but it goes in many new directions as well.3 - Twilight Mahjongg
A new take on Mahjongg. Plays like the classic game but is set in a futuristic space setting. This game has gone through a few updates since it was released so if you took a look at it when it first came out it may be worth having another look. This game is also now available for Macintosh.4 - Mahjongg Variations
Variations was our attempt to go back towards a more traditional Mahjongg game but also to take the game in directions nobody else had gone before. This game has many many different modes of play. So if you're tired of the classic game then give this a try and play the new modes like flipper, wildcard, or puzzle.5 - Aargon Blackbox
Not exactly a sequel to Aargon, but a new kind of puzzle that uses some of the same concepts. If you like Aargon you may like this. If you don't like Aargon you might like it anyway. The demo's are free so give it a go.
This article is a general interest article to help anyone who's unclear about these sorts of viruses. If you're not a computer expert this should help you recognize the viruses and understand how they work, and therefor help you avoid infection with the various computer viruses. I'll be speaking specifically about e-mail style viruses. That is... those viruses that arrive as an email and get sent out as emails.
This is a more technical article about Aargon Level editing and its aimed at those people who want to really get down to the nitty gritty details. It discusses a tricky element of PCE or piece files that tell Aargon how things like mirrors and prisms work.
